Privacy

What we collect

• Your email address (to sign you in). It is never shown to other people.
• Your profile: first and last name (taken from Google if you sign in with it, editable), gender, level, area, gym, usual training time and days, and an optional focus.
• Up to 4 profile photos, if you add them. We re-encode them on your device first, which removes location (GPS) and other hidden data.
• Your requests, messages, reports and blocks. Messages are deleted after 7 days. Deleting a chat removes it for you; once both people delete it, its messages are erased.

What others see

People nearby see your first name and last initial, gender, level, area, gym, training times and days, focus, an approximate distance in whole kilometres between your gyms (or areas, if no gym is set), and your photos. Photos follow the same rules as your profile: hidden from men if you choose, hidden while paused, and never shown to people you block. Your full last name is shown only to people you've matched with (and hidden again if either of you blocks the other). Never your email, your location or where you are.

Your controls

• Choose who you see, and hide your profile from men.
• Pause your profile to disappear from Nearby.
• Block anyone. They are not told.
• Delete your account, which erases your data.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data or show ads. We never ask for or use your location. Gym search uses Google Maps: what you type there is sent to Google, with your chosen area, to find matching gyms nearby.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with our hosting providers (Supabase and Vercel).
